EVENTS CALENDAR

2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month – Night Hike/Ski/Snowshoe.
Meet at the River Hawk Complex at 7:00pm for a night hike/ski/snowshoe
event. A candle lit trail, campfire and refreshments are available.

3rd Saturday of each month: Hike/Ski/Snowshoe – Meet at the
River Hawk Complex at 1:00pm. Rentals may be available by
reservation.

December 13: Introduction to Snow Snake – report to the
River Hawk Café between 10:00am and 1:00pm for instruction on how to
make a Snow Snake. The Snow Snake is a Native American craft
constructed of wood, personalized and used in competitive sliding
events. You may purchase a Snow Snake blank and receive instruction as
you begin the process of shaping and personalizing your snake. Blanks
are available at the Café from the Boy Scouts for $5.00.

January 31: Snow Snake Competition – Join us on the hill
at the River Hawk Complex to slide your Snow Snake down the track.
Perfect your technique and attempt to send your Snake to the end of the
track … and beyond?

July 18 – 90th Anniversary Event – Join us at the River Hawk
complex to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Michigan State Parks.
Enjoy the arts – musicians, photography, painting, and other artistic
media; all with a special connection to Michigan.

August 8 – River Hawk Rumble III – Join us at the River
Hawk Complex for an outdoor exposition. Experts in the following areas
will be available to instruct and allow you to experience the following
outdoor activities: Mountain Biking, Geocaching, Hiking, Camping,
Fishing, Adventure Racing, atlatel, canoeing. Meet Smokey Bear, pet a
horse.

MICHIGAN STATE PARK MOTOR VEHICLE PERMIT REQUIRED FOR ENTRANCE TO ALL
ACTIVITIES. ANNUAL PERMITS ARE $24.OO. DAILY PERMITS ARE $6.00. PERMITS
MAY BE PURCHASED AT THE PARK OFFICE OR AT THE EVENT.

Proud Lake Staff and Friends will paticipate in the Milford Parade again this year. We had a good time last year! If you would like to help us out by walking, helping to pass out literature (Park and Friends Group), be a representation of your special interest at the Park (carry a canoe or kayak paddle and wear a life jacket, PLTR banner, mountain bike, hike w/ a backpack, carry a fishing pole, wear a mask from the Panic, etc.) we would be glad to have you join us (and Smokey) at the parade on Saturday, Nov. 29. I should have our location assignment and what time we need to be lined up by the end of this week. If you are interested in participating, please return an email to me and I will make sure you get the neccessary information. Thanks in advance for your support and participation.
