The Legend
The Legend began one cold and foggy night in 2006 when a group of local
teenagers ventured down the Huron River at Proud Lake Recreation Area.
Never were they seen again.
Rumor speaks that the environment of Proud Lake Recreation Area has
been permanently altered. Every cold and foggy October night the
forests and river hold a mist which transforms the otherwise peaceful
darkness into an atmosphere of terror. The river ripples with regret
of the taking of 2 teens who carelessly capsized their canoe and slipped
below the cold waters never to be seen again. The remaining teens
reached the shore and ventured into the woods, stricken with panic at
the loss of their friends. Only one teen ever returned to tell the
story.
Paddlers have reported hearing splashing and muffled cries for help as
they navigate the dark waters. The noise appears to remain always
around the next bend. The forest moans and the wind howls chilling
threats to visitors. There is a dampness in the air. It has been
thought that trees reach out to claim unsuspecting hikers from the trail
while the ground opens and swallows others. What other tragedies await
visitors are yet to be witnessed and limited only by the depths of ones
imagination.
Many visitors enter the ecosystem of Proud Lake Recreation Area in
October but few depart. Is there a realm that engulfs these missing
visitors? Do they join a community of lost adventurers? Are you brave
enough to venture into the depths of the unexplained…the unknown? Will
you survive the ripples of the river, the terror of the forest? Dare
you venture into the PANIC AT PROUD LAKE?
