We are having an ice cream social on July 24th from 2-4pm at the Proud Lake Cafe. The address is 3500 Wixom Rd., Commerce Twp, MI. Turn at the Proud Lake Park Headquarters and follow the road to the cafe. It will be the 2nd building on the left. This event is free! Come out and meet the Friends of Proud Lake, Heavner Nature Connections, The Trailriders and our very own Proud Lake DNRE. This would be a good opportunity to join any of our park groups, learn about upcoming activities while enjoying some ice cream with us. Hope to see you all there!

Special Election of the Board of Directors

Tuesday, April 20th is our election of the Board of Directors. If you are currently a member and in good standing you may come out and vote. If you are interested in running for a position, please email: Peglet731@aol.com, ASAP. Proxy votes will be accepted no later than Sunday, April 18th. For a list of candidates, please email the above address. You must have been a member for at least 1 year and be in good standing to run for a position. You may pay your dues before the vote. We will meet at the Annex at 7:00PM. This special election will be the only thing on the agenda. All other matters will be addressed at the monthly meeting on Thursday, May 6th.

Meet At The Oak Picnic Shelter at Powers Unit site
3500 Wixom Road, Commerce, Mi.
Turn west off Wixom Road just north of the park office. Meet at the first parking area, which is the Oak Shelter.
Sponsored by Friends of Proud Lake Recreation Area.
Help us weed out this very invasive plant from our BEAUTIFUL PARK! Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and weed pulling. Gloves are recommended. We will provide gloves if you don’t have any. Please join us on Saturday, May 1. Contact Dee at 248-624-6054 for directions or more information.

REMINDER: Moonlight Hayride

Reminder: This Saturday is our Moonlight Hayride. We hope you can come out and enjoy a Moonlight Hayride, have a hot dog, warm up by the campfire and enjoy some Proud Lake fellowship! Starts at 7:30PM until 10PM. We will meet at the Annex. Hope to see you there!

Tuesday Night Hike

Come join us tomorrow night for our Tuesday night hike. We hike around the marsh and then head back to the Annex for refreshments and fellowship. Meet us at 7PM at the Annex to start the hike. If anyone is interested in joining the Friends of Proud Lake, we would love to have you join us! For those who haven’t paid this years dues yet, you can drop them by or mail them in. Monthly Meetings and Special Election Meeting

Our monthly meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 6:30PM at the Annex building in Proud Lake. Everyone is welcome. If you have something special or want to speak at the meeting, please email Peglet731@aol.com no later than the day before our meeting so we can add it to the agenda.

SPECIAL ELECTION MEETING

We are voting in new Board Members on Tuesday, April 20th at 7PM at the Annex building. If you are not currently a member, we would love to have you join. It is $10 for an individual or $15 for a family. All members in good standing (over 18 yrs. of age) may vote at this special meeting.

Moonlight Hayride

Tonight is our Moonlight Hayride. With all the new fallen snow it should be very pretty by moonlight. We will meet at the Annex in Proud Lake. For those who are not familiar with Proud Lake, the address is 3500 Wixom Rd. Commerce Twp, MI. Turn down the road that is by the headquarters. The Annex building is the next building on the left side after the headquarters office. Remember to dress for the outdoors!

HAYRIDE FEBRUARY 27th

The Friends of Proud Lake is sponsoring a family hayride on Saturday, February 27th from 7:00PM-10:00PM. The cost for this event is $5.00 per person. Children under 6 free. This event will include a hot dog, chips and beverage along with the hayride. There will also be a campfire to warm up by. We will start the hayride at the Annex building in Proud Lake off Wixom Rd.
