Happy New Year!! We would like to invite you to join the Friends of Proud Lake. Our January Events will include our night hikes which will be the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month during the winter months. We meet at 7PM at the Annex in Proud Lake. We also have a hayride planned for January 22nd starting at 7PM and meeting at the Annex in Proud Lake. Come on out and see what we are about!

We are looking for volunteers to come out and help with Panic again for this coming October. We will be having Panic the 2-5th Friday and Saturdays in October. Plus the last 3 Sundays. Fridays and Saturdays the times to volunteer would be 6-midnight and Sundays would be 12-5pm. Pizza will be provided on Fridays and Saturdays only. Since our first Ice Cream Social turned out to be a hit, Friends of Proud Lake have decide to have another social time this Saturday 6-8pm. This time you will have the opportunity to take a hike around the Marsh first and then enjoy your ice cream with the Friends of Proud Lake. Hope to see you all out there! We would like to thank Alan Heavner and Heavner Nature Connection for supplying the ice cream for this event! For all the Proud Lake campers: free shuttle to this event!!

We are having an ice cream social on July 24th from 2-4pm at the Proud Lake Cafe. The address is 3500 Wixom Rd., Commerce Twp, MI. Turn at the Proud Lake Park Headquarters and follow the road to the cafe. It will be the 2nd building on the left. This event is free! Come out and meet the Friends of Proud Lake, Heavner Nature Connections, The Trailriders and our very own Proud Lake DNRE. This would be a good opportunity to join any of our park groups, learn about upcoming activities while  enjoying some ice cream with us. Hope to see you all there!

Tuesday, April 20th is our election of the Board of Directors. If you are currently a member and in good standing you may come out and vote. If you are interested in running for a position, please email: Peglet731@aol.com, ASAP. Proxy votes will be accepted no later than Sunday, April 18th. For a list of candidates, please email the above address. You must have been a member for at least 1 year and be in good standing to run for a position. You may pay your dues before the vote. We will meet at the Annex at 7:00PM. This special election will be the only thing on the agenda. All other matters will be addressed at the monthly meeting on Thursday, May 6th.
